INDENA PHYTOSOME™ HOW IT WORKS?
Indena Phytosome™ is a solid dispersion of botanicals or natural compounds into a 100% food-grade matrix based on lecithin, amphipathic molecules which act as inhibitor of self-aggregation and effective wetting agents.
Indena Phytosome™ is formulated exclusively with natural dietary ingredients (phospholipids) that act as vectors dynamically reducing the self-aggregation of natural compounds. 
In fact, phospholipids and botanicals, on their own, naturally tend to self-aggregate. In particular, the first aim to join into well-organized structures, while the second aggregate in an inefficient way creating clusters that make the final formulation unstable and rigid. Bi-directional actions are required then, for natural compounds and phospholipids to mutually avoid packing that would reduce absorption by the human body. Phospholipids enclosed in Indena Phytosome™ formula interact with botanical compounds and inhibit their self-aggregation, defeating the primary limit to the full exploitation of phytonutrients’ potential. In turn, botanical compounds avoid the self-aggregation of phospholipids.

Indena Phytosome™ formulations AREN’T:

• chemical derivatives or new chemical entities: no covalent bond is involved in their formation;
• complexes: no well-defined, three-dimensional association between lecithin and the dispersed nutraceutical exists, but lecithin, an amphipathic compound, simply acts as a self-aggregation inhibitor, facilitating dispersion in biological media;
• liposomes, which differ in structure, manufacturing process and stability showing a well-defined micellar or vesicular structure 
• nanoformulations: no ultra-dispersion method is involved in their formation.
